L. E. Travel Tips: Mahadeva Yoga - São Paulo

Contributing Editor: Leonardo Tupper

São Paulo is often referred to as the New York City of Brazil. The comparison makes sense in many ways, but there are a variety of major differences as well. Two of the core similarities are the vast diversity of the population and the workaholic nature of its residents.

Paulista Avenue is the economical center of this huge city and is full of businessmen and women from all over the planet. Typically, the people are rushing from one meeting to the next and working against big deadlines. Leaving inadequate time for to relax, exercise, and sometimes necessities such as eating.

This kind of regimen requires time to refuel the body and soul with good energy and peace. Luckily, the perfect spot exists right in the heart of São Paulo… Mahadeva Yoga.

The place, with its quiet and peaceful yoga rooms, is located just four blocks from Paulista Avenue and the instructors, Thiago and Julia, welcome drop-ins.

Thiago and his team of teachers travel frequently to India to renew their energy and yoga techniques for the benefit of their students. If you are worried about a language barrier that is not a problem at this studio as Thiago is also a polyglot. He speaks English, Spanish, French and Italian fluently, and of course, his native language Portuguese.

The main point here, however, is to find an environment with such energy inside the concrete jungle of São Paulo.

The closest metro station is Trianon-Masp, at Paulista. If you are in São Paulo, you should stop by and get to know Mahadeva Yoga. Good practice and Namastê.
